GIRLS

GIRLS

It's time to introduce you a series that's kicking out Gossip Girl. The BOMB MIXING of "SEX in the CITY" and Woody Allen. The KID version of a mini- Carrie Bradshow. A young writer who tries to acomplish her dream in "the Big Apple" and doesn't write a sex column, but talks about it all day with her friends  LoL
This series touches themes like:Young women unemployment.

Began airing on HBO on April 15.2012.Created and starring Lena Dunham.

What's curious about this girl is that she has done the series based on her experiences of teenage times, and she acts on it!
It's not the type of series we are used to where everybody is beautiful and fashion (like Gossip girl). This series talks about a real girl, a normal one(not a Serena Vanderwoodsen) and real life problems. I think thats why this series is getting into people. This is Lena playing Hannah.

I always thought...<What if I do a series based on things that happen to me, with my friends and the hilarious anecdotes I have that you'll laugh yourself to death?> Well this girl, Lena Dunham has done this!Way to go!

Series centers her as Hannah, the main character. What's really funny about her is her sense of humour, without doing it on purpose her dialoges are  suprisingly funny. I say it's kind of Woody Allen because everybody talks at the same time...like in Woody's movies. Hannah wants to be a writer, but in the meantime she only writes in her journal. One day she'll share it with the world, she knows she has talent, she's just waiting for someone to discover it(kind of like me with all this movie critics hahaha). This girl totally asumes her weight  and makes jokes and laughs of herself. That's ten points for her and the fucking topics of society.

It all starts when her parents cut her financially so she decides to go find luck in New York. Paralel to her story goes her three girl-friends, which each play a part in Hannah's life.

-Allison Williams as Marnie Michaels:
Plays her best friend. Lives with Hannah, paying all the rents cause Hannah is broke. She's perfect, gridded and meticulous. She always wears the perfect outfit and is the "good one".Stuck with a boyfriend from long ago, but doesn't feel attracted to him anymore.."She fucks me pussy-like"(Says she in the pilot episode). What's curious about this character is that used to all this PERFECTIVENESS AND RESPONSABILITY that suddenly SHE goes MAD and starts experiencing...(You'll see, she goes bananas...)
Hannah absolutely loves her and always follows her advice.

 -Jemima Kirke as Jessa Johansson:
Bohemian and unpredictable world-globetrotter girl. I love this character, she couldn't care LESS about everything, she doesn't give a fuck, she just lets go. Shes hippy style with long blond hair. She moves to NewYork to live with his cousin and she bad influences her. She's way to experienced and has traveled a lot. She's high on weed all the time and has a "curious"way of dressing.
Hannah admires her unstopable sex life.

-Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna Shapiro Jessa's cousin:
Freaky as hell but at the same time adorable. Unexperienced teenager who admires her cousin and looks up to her. She's hilariously funny and once gets by accident high on cocaine and that episode it's tremendously funny.I love how she grows to be an adult and develops a more confident personality.

-Adam Driver as Adam Sackler:
Hannahs love. Super excentric Adam, to be polite I'll say "awkward Adam". He's really really ugly and pretty mean. Treats Hannah horribly and posibly has mental problems, but Hannah seams attached to him. Along the series you begin to actually like him.

All along the first season i've been laughing nonstop. The dialoge between characters is amazing!Give this series a shot because if you have inteligent sense of humour you'll get all the jokes and have a good time seing this girl act. It takes part in NEWYORK, what more can you ask for?

This girls show you that also being young is difficult, that eventhough grownups may see their problems as "insignificant", for this girls they're SUPER IMPORTANT haha. Moreover, this series makes you see the difficult times young out of university people are facing when struggling to find a job.

La DÉLICATESSE

“La délicatesse”

I apologize for my absence this month, but I am truly enjoying my so deserved vacations in the beach with  a “margarita” and no laptop….I hope I didn’t loose you readers.

Yesterday as I was with a terrible knock-knock hangover I had the pleasure of seeing this wierd but at the same time amazing movie and I had to write about it…

Movie from David and Stephane Foenkinos, script by David Foenkinos based on the novel edited by Seix Barral.
Featuring Audrey Tautou as <Nathalie> and Francois Damiens  as <Markus>.

It’s a French movie and French movies are known for being “slow motioned” but this story is a bomb full of feelings and advice.
Me, myself, I'm not a fan of Audrey Tautou but I have to admit this movie made me appreciate her way of acting. I love her style and totally french outfits full of dresses and her paddington blue-marine jacket.

This story talks about the enormous love of two people, grown to each other since highschool times. Both lovely, both handsome, both marvellous “in love”.
You enjoy their love and the pretty face of the first main character…

But all of this changes the day He goes jogging with earphones on….never comes back because he's hitten by a car. One day, one instant, one second you have him by your side the other you don’t..Nathalie didn’t give him a kiss that day, never will…

Nathalie is devastated and doesn’t go on with her life. She spends months trapped in her apartment getting rid of everything that reminds her of Francois…(even throws his laptot..) The solution is hiding herself in work because if not she’ll destroy herself. She has to do something, she has to distract herself or she’ll end up loosing her mind.
Therefor she becomes the number one at work.
It’s been three years and she’s not over it, she’s not prepared to date again.
Her boss at work is totally obsessed with her, and it’s that constant pressure that makes her not want to date again.

One day,out of herself, she gives a kiss to one of her work companions. A guy at the office that’s practically invisible, nobody knows hes name and nobody had noticed him before.
That day he goes home and wonders everything about that girl, that girl who suddenly decided to kiss him, HIM.

Next day at work he goes into her office and kisses her back. With all his courage because he’s actually a very shy man.
Markus is nothing like Nathalie's type of man.
Quick description: Hes swiss , tall , very pale skin-white as milk and practically bald.  Nobody understands what this two are up to, and nobody understands their relationship. But little by little (like the title says “la Delicatesse” )Markus very delicately starts giving Nathalie what she needs, peace and calmness and no pressure. She begings to like him because hes delicate and sweet and makes her laugh…
People at work, her friends say she’s way superior to him and that “she can do better”.

This movie stands up for those topics, how a pure heart can conquer a women and save her from the hole her husbands death has let her. Society tends to judge people by it’s cover and because of that we are missing the opportunity to know amazing people. Like main character Markus. Every time he speaks you begin to see him more and more handsome. This movie simbolizes the strength to overcome, the need to suffer  in order to cure and beggin a new chapter of your life. Life doesn’t end with your close relatives death, they live forever in you and give you the power to accomplish the way back to yourself.

AUDREY HEPBURN

Audrey &the 50 dollar powder room.
"two drifters....off to see the world"

Breakfast at Tiffanys  I absolutely love  this movie & character.

Audrey Hepburn" the introvert" plays Holly Golightly" the extrovert " with a complete mess-girl acting and at the same time totally fabulous and chick everytime. There's an enormous worldwide mistake from people who haven't seen this movie. They tend to think this movie is about a corny  daddys-girl who lives in Manhattan with her lovely and fashonable outfits. Well....WRONG. That has nothing to do with this movie plot. It's true that 50% of the movie is about her falling in love ,but in my opinion movie  goes beyond that.
It talks about how a girl finally finds herself.
One of my favorite quotations from the movie is when she explains the meaning of Tiffany's shop for her.
"Its like tiffanys, Im crazy about tiffanys, when Im sad I jump into a cab and go to tiffanys. Nothing bad could happen to you there. If I ever find a place that feels like tiffanys then i'll buy some furniture and give the cat a name".

Breakfast at tiffanys talks about a girl who can't find herself. She's trap in her own hollow wishes and eventhough in the exterior she may seem happy, she's a total mess. Remember her Budoir in her room and how she can't find her shoes? And they are somewhere below the bed? She's stubborn as hell for finding a man who can maintain her and give her Tiffany-like jewelry and accesories. That's why she can never settle anywhere, it's all little to her. She doesn't want to own anything, she's insecure and doens't think she's worth it by her own. SHE WANTS MORE, SHE WANT TIFFANYS.....Thats why she has a cat named CAT!!!!!
Poor old cat, poor old cat without a name.....(she says)
It's because she thinks she has no right to give him one, she doesn't want to own him...

This character is a total globetrotter who ends up in an minuscule appartment in New York with a chinese neighboor who's fed up of her ringing his bell everytime she doesn't find her keys. It's amazing how she laughs at drunken bastards who want to get inside her bed. She dates them, asks them for 50 dollars for the powder room and ends up getting out of her appartment through the window. From the beggining her life is focused on meeting lots of men, getting their 50 dollars for the powder room and hoping for one of those dates to be the one with the billionaire she wants. This movie is from 1961 and it's not far away from what some girls do nowadays....The rising search for being near a rich guy is increasing day by day and girls are forgetting what real love is(simple as a cupcake).
They find themselves being a 50% and need that ather 50% plus to be a 100%.And have a full-filled life. Truth is they are already a 100% they just don't know it , or haven't admitted it to themselves (just like Holly does).

Holy's life changes when she meets Paul. The new neighboor next door who turns up to be the Gigolo of a rich lady.First time they meet he rings her bell and asks her to borrow her phone.

"You just moved here no?"(He asks her)

"Oh no, I've been here about a year, phone is over there, well it was, oh I remember i stuck it in the suitcase so it buffles the sound"

You can see at that exact instant how Paul looks at Holly(You know girls, the typicall boy look...when you can see they're heart coming out from their chest like HELLOOOOOOO)You can see he's astonished  by her way of acting and speaking so fast. And ends up following her like a dog all along the room.

You remember the party she throws at her place? Holly's friend( kind of her manager who wishes to make her an actress but doesn't seem to make it come true)

 - I'm in NY cause ive never been in NY ( her friend had a screenplay for her that was going to make herfamous.)
- Get on a plane and come back here
           - I dont wanna

           - So Holly what do u wanna?

          - When i know what I want, I'm gonna let u know BANG(Hangs up the phone)

This phrase symbolices Holly's personality.Nobody can put her in a cage ,she's a free spirit.
All along the movie Holly starts falling for Paul  but she doesn't want to admit it, not to us spectators(we already noticed that from minute two) but to herself. She still keeps up with the "DARLING" attitude.

One day she lets herself go and spends a whole day with Paul.

"We will spend the day doing thing we have never done"(says audrey to paul ) in her Orange coat.

"It's tacky to wear diamonds before Im 40, ill accept a present from tiffanys of 10 dollars"

Strawling down every street of New York.............

I won't keep going, practically i've narrated all the movie. Its an old movie but it's a movie that never gets old.Throught generations everybody has dressed as Audrey Hepburn in this particular movie. The typical black dress with her pearl collar and her enormous black pamela.
It's a movie made for girls, not the corny like nor romance kleenex type( like titanic).
It's the kind of movie that makes you want to let go, let go and be more like Holly in the end.
Act like you don't care but always opening a door for change. You don't have to be defined, your acts don't have to be defined. You have to let go and express yourself.

Like I always want to leave a conclusion for you readers I'll say:
Don't get attached to yourself!
Get out of that taxi like Audrey did, give your cat a name and settle down somewhere with someone......don't always look for Diamonds...because not all diamonds Shine. Be happy with a ten dollar ring, but YES,of course from Tiffanys......
Amazing movie, couldn't have chosen a better actress.

GOSSIP GIRL

"Gossip girl here your one & Only source into the scandalous life of Manhattan’s elite".
WARNING: DON'T READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN SEASON 5..or you will get SPOILED!
When I first started to see this TV series was when I landed on my new college residence…It mentally transported me to another world, a world full of glamour, outrageous parties, beautiful people, expensive daydreaming clothing and sparkling houses and schools.

Do you remember one of the firsts episodes the “kiss on the lips party”the one in which the song “So it's hard to live its hard to live in the city"with the limousine taking Blair waldorf,Nate,Serena and chuck to the party? The one where chuck, at first,  is a fucking twat and wants to take advantage of Jenny Humphrey in the rooftop. This series makes you want to be as stylish and popular like Serena, as powerfull and a wannabee of Blair waldorf, a hook up of  Nates heart and an amazing sex partner and conqueror of Chuck. With only 40 minutes of episode they take you to all those places. It’s just 40 minutes of your despicable life where you relax, turn on your computer and imagine you are one of those people and those people are looking at you.

Oh sorry ,and Dan the “lonely boy” (best nickname ever).
I don’t really get the role of this boy. He actually works as a model and hooked up with blake lively in real life, but he actually doesn’t fit very well into this society. He is totally “the outsider”,but if you stop and think we can tell that the whole series ends up coming back to him: When he comes new to school living in Brooklyn, falling for serena…(actually gets her and has his first time experience with her).  He slowly  tries to approach the Gigantic shadow that follows all these Manhattan rich kids and slowly lets his way inside. He plays the -I hate richness and I hate clothing but ends up dressing better than nate &hooking up with blair(sorry if I spoiled).
This is the craziest and dumbest thing this series has done. It makes no fucking sense.Blair is ment to be with chuck. Opposites attract each other? so fucking NOT TRUE….opposites attract each other for one day but in terms of full time living and sharing you have to be with your half orange.(with this I mean the other half of the orange not a different orange half hahaha)

What about Nate and Chuck?I mean they actually have passed from all the girls in the series. Nate has been with: Serena,Blair ,Jenny,Vanessa, the pshycopath I don’t remember her name.(the one that had a brother called Ben)ivy dickens and Charlie Rhodes.
About Chuck the only one that he has left to make up with is serena(Oh no they can’t they’re brothers "Duh"). I have to say no one finds a guy so well dressed in the street, it’s so unfair! Even his underwear has to be luxury. He’s an elegant item I wouldn’t mind in my house.
Seriously the series love-life is like a rollercoaster clownish joke. Oh and Eric is gay.
In my opinion, the only couples that make sense are Blair-Chuck, Serena-Dan and Nate-Charlie Rhodes…Keep it up like that and don’t loose track.

Serena Vanderwoodsen.OMG!What’s her problem? She’s every girls dream to be(I would change faces with her) & she spends all the seasons avoiding being happy and trying to destroy herself…Maniac drug life in boarding school, snorting lines with georgina( by the way love her role , she’s a fucking bitch), dealing with Damian. All because what?Blair doesn’t pay her attention(I mean what power does this girl have on her?On everyone?)or Dan doesn’t like her? Oh shut up!She isn’t mean, stop doing nonsense and go for Dan.
And Nate?come on!He’s the hottest in the series give him some more role…
Blair Waldorf symbolises the power and strength of women in terms of manipulation. She lives with the “defense strategy” :Take down everyone who is on your way.
This is a good strategy but thank god she changed and now worries about people’s feelings and isn’t “The Blair WITCH project”.
I think, and Im just guessing that Gossip girl is one of their circle. There’s always a gossip girl in every city. It doesn’t have to be as glamorous as Manhattan. In every city there are always gonna be girls and boys more popular than others and people are always going to talk about their hook ups, clothing or what-fuck- ever, but in order to have people talking about them, there has to be people interested in them. That’s for why Gossip girl HAS TO BE one of their circle…One that watches and says what Manhattan particular circle wants to hear.
Amazing series, amazing characters and Amazing Scenery.
X.O.X.O….Gossip girl..

PINK LADIES*

The other side of Grease:
The stunning & Hilarious  BETTY RIZZO (played by Channing Stockhard)

If I'm going to start speaking about movies (since I'm thinking of doing something related to FILMS later) I will start with GO-GREASE-LIGHTNING. I could bore you with how the first mute film started and the struggle to create new movies when the sound came, but I'll probably loose you guys...so I'm going to try to catch your attention(If you are still here and haven't fallen asleep with saliva going down your laptot haha).
Everyone knows and has seen Grease over a friday last-minute plan cancelation. Its a typical movie you have to have on your shelf for when you dont know what to watch. I know, it's a musical and some people reject this movies because actors spend all the movie singing &dancing! In my opinion= it's HILARIOUS! You can sing along with them( if you know the songs and had a good day), go to the bathroom or go supervise the popcorn! I assume you have seen this movie  a thousand times  so I recommend you to see it again with another perspective. Do not focus your attention in Sandra Dee's story. I know she's the main character, with all the summer loving blah blah blah blaah...I met a boy taraaaararaaaaah...NAH lay your attention on RIZZO!

This girl simbolices the sexual liberation of the seventies in contrast with the repressed life of girls like sandy.

-Oh Im not going to kiss him on the first day...then he won't respect me....
-"I wont go to bed till im legally wed...I can't I'm Sandra Dee!"

AGAIN....COME ON!!!It's Danny Zucco we are talking about here....LET HIM TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE...!
Think how miserable Sandra Dee was when thinking so much and analizing every step she took, all day in her house singing:"Hopelessly devoted.. tooo youuu...." TO who?Excuse me, devoted to WHO?"
Danny Zucco was probably fed up by the time and probably checking on another girl...

With this, I don't mean girls have to be easy or sluts. We should always be respected and play the "inaccessible" look but we have to have character and enjoy life. Play it cool, always knowing what you look for in a relationship, do not settle with a dutchbag! I admire  Rizzos personality, how she doesn't let boys treat her like inferior and speaks out to what she wants!Maybe she's a bit slutty...yeah probably. With this I don't mean you have to be easy to get, but give guys some inniciative, something they'll look forward to and then you have them in love forever.
"A guy doesn' t  notice but when they fall in love, they are idiots in love"
Do you remember the outfits girls wear at that times:

Do you see Rizzo? With tight black dress. Everyone knows black dresses make everyone look awesome and thinner! Yeah that's personality! Fuck off the puritan look of the 70s,  AGRESSIVE BE BE AGRESSIVE!

Doesn't anybody remember that Danny Zucco had hooked up earlier with rizzo?Yes!Rizzo was totally into him and nobody notices when Sandra Dee steps in and takes it from her....(Nobody blames Sandra Dee though) In her defense, she didn't know Rizzo before. What  about Rizzos feelings? She's known as the bad one, but really Is she? I mean, she's just a girl, playing it cool, trying to get boys attention in a society full of beautiful "blondy robots". Zucco is okey, but Keniki In my opinion...WAY TO GO RIZZO!hahaha!A bit of a dumbass and irresponsible at first but kind of funny and charming at the end. The thing I most adore about this film is the ending. How Sandra Dee switches her personality and gives a shot to smiling & enjoying her life! This is the spirit boys like!So girls, get your Pink ladies jackets and give them some PERSONALITY!
