AUDREY HEPBURN

Audrey &the 50 dollar powder room.
"two drifters....off to see the world"

Breakfast at Tiffanys  I absolutely love  this movie & character.

Audrey Hepburn" the introvert" plays Holly Golightly" the extrovert " with a complete mess-girl acting and at the same time totally fabulous and chick everytime. There's an enormous worldwide mistake from people who haven't seen this movie. They tend to think this movie is about a corny  daddys-girl who lives in Manhattan with her lovely and fashonable outfits. Well....WRONG. That has nothing to do with this movie plot. It's true that 50% of the movie is about her falling in love ,but in my opinion movie  goes beyond that.
It talks about how a girl finally finds herself.
One of my favorite quotations from the movie is when she explains the meaning of Tiffany's shop for her.
"Its like tiffanys, Im crazy about tiffanys, when Im sad I jump into a cab and go to tiffanys. Nothing bad could happen to you there. If I ever find a place that feels like tiffanys then i'll buy some furniture and give the cat a name".

Breakfast at tiffanys talks about a girl who can't find herself. She's trap in her own hollow wishes and eventhough in the exterior she may seem happy, she's a total mess. Remember her Budoir in her room and how she can't find her shoes? And they are somewhere below the bed? She's stubborn as hell for finding a man who can maintain her and give her Tiffany-like jewelry and accesories. That's why she can never settle anywhere, it's all little to her. She doesn't want to own anything, she's insecure and doens't think she's worth it by her own. SHE WANTS MORE, SHE WANT TIFFANYS.....Thats why she has a cat named CAT!!!!!
Poor old cat, poor old cat without a name.....(she says)
It's because she thinks she has no right to give him one, she doesn't want to own him...

This character is a total globetrotter who ends up in an minuscule appartment in New York with a chinese neighboor who's fed up of her ringing his bell everytime she doesn't find her keys. It's amazing how she laughs at drunken bastards who want to get inside her bed. She dates them, asks them for 50 dollars for the powder room and ends up getting out of her appartment through the window. From the beggining her life is focused on meeting lots of men, getting their 50 dollars for the powder room and hoping for one of those dates to be the one with the billionaire she wants. This movie is from 1961 and it's not far away from what some girls do nowadays....The rising search for being near a rich guy is increasing day by day and girls are forgetting what real love is(simple as a cupcake).
They find themselves being a 50% and need that ather 50% plus to be a 100%.And have a full-filled life. Truth is they are already a 100% they just don't know it , or haven't admitted it to themselves (just like Holly does).

Holy's life changes when she meets Paul. The new neighboor next door who turns up to be the Gigolo of a rich lady.First time they meet he rings her bell and asks her to borrow her phone.

"You just moved here no?"(He asks her)

"Oh no, I've been here about a year, phone is over there, well it was, oh I remember i stuck it in the suitcase so it buffles the sound"

You can see at that exact instant how Paul looks at Holly(You know girls, the typicall boy look...when you can see they're heart coming out from their chest like HELLOOOOOOO)You can see he's astonished  by her way of acting and speaking so fast. And ends up following her like a dog all along the room.

You remember the party she throws at her place? Holly's friend( kind of her manager who wishes to make her an actress but doesn't seem to make it come true)

 - I'm in NY cause ive never been in NY ( her friend had a screenplay for her that was going to make herfamous.)
- Get on a plane and come back here
           - I dont wanna

           - So Holly what do u wanna?

          - When i know what I want, I'm gonna let u know BANG(Hangs up the phone)

This phrase symbolices Holly's personality.Nobody can put her in a cage ,she's a free spirit.
All along the movie Holly starts falling for Paul  but she doesn't want to admit it, not to us spectators(we already noticed that from minute two) but to herself. She still keeps up with the "DARLING" attitude.

One day she lets herself go and spends a whole day with Paul.

"We will spend the day doing thing we have never done"(says audrey to paul ) in her Orange coat.

"It's tacky to wear diamonds before Im 40, ill accept a present from tiffanys of 10 dollars"

Strawling down every street of New York.............

I won't keep going, practically i've narrated all the movie. Its an old movie but it's a movie that never gets old.Throught generations everybody has dressed as Audrey Hepburn in this particular movie. The typical black dress with her pearl collar and her enormous black pamela.
It's a movie made for girls, not the corny like nor romance kleenex type( like titanic).
It's the kind of movie that makes you want to let go, let go and be more like Holly in the end.
Act like you don't care but always opening a door for change. You don't have to be defined, your acts don't have to be defined. You have to let go and express yourself.

Like I always want to leave a conclusion for you readers I'll say:
Don't get attached to yourself!
Get out of that taxi like Audrey did, give your cat a name and settle down somewhere with someone......don't always look for Diamonds...because not all diamonds Shine. Be happy with a ten dollar ring, but YES,of course from Tiffanys......
Amazing movie, couldn't have chosen a better actress.
