GIRLS

GIRLS

It's time to introduce you a series that's kicking out Gossip Girl. The BOMB MIXING of "SEX in the CITY" and Woody Allen. The KID version of a mini- Carrie Bradshow. A young writer who tries to acomplish her dream in "the Big Apple" and doesn't write a sex column, but talks about it all day with her friends  LoL
This series touches themes like:Young women unemployment.

Began airing on HBO on April 15.2012.Created and starring Lena Dunham.

What's curious about this girl is that she has done the series based on her experiences of teenage times, and she acts on it!
It's not the type of series we are used to where everybody is beautiful and fashion (like Gossip girl). This series talks about a real girl, a normal one(not a Serena Vanderwoodsen) and real life problems. I think thats why this series is getting into people. This is Lena playing Hannah.

I always thought...<What if I do a series based on things that happen to me, with my friends and the hilarious anecdotes I have that you'll laugh yourself to death?> Well this girl, Lena Dunham has done this!Way to go!

Series centers her as Hannah, the main character. What's really funny about her is her sense of humour, without doing it on purpose her dialoges are  suprisingly funny. I say it's kind of Woody Allen because everybody talks at the same time...like in Woody's movies. Hannah wants to be a writer, but in the meantime she only writes in her journal. One day she'll share it with the world, she knows she has talent, she's just waiting for someone to discover it(kind of like me with all this movie critics hahaha). This girl totally asumes her weight  and makes jokes and laughs of herself. That's ten points for her and the fucking topics of society.

It all starts when her parents cut her financially so she decides to go find luck in New York. Paralel to her story goes her three girl-friends, which each play a part in Hannah's life.

-Allison Williams as Marnie Michaels:
Plays her best friend. Lives with Hannah, paying all the rents cause Hannah is broke. She's perfect, gridded and meticulous. She always wears the perfect outfit and is the "good one".Stuck with a boyfriend from long ago, but doesn't feel attracted to him anymore.."She fucks me pussy-like"(Says she in the pilot episode). What's curious about this character is that used to all this PERFECTIVENESS AND RESPONSABILITY that suddenly SHE goes MAD and starts experiencing...(You'll see, she goes bananas...)
Hannah absolutely loves her and always follows her advice.

 -Jemima Kirke as Jessa Johansson:
Bohemian and unpredictable world-globetrotter girl. I love this character, she couldn't care LESS about everything, she doesn't give a fuck, she just lets go. Shes hippy style with long blond hair. She moves to NewYork to live with his cousin and she bad influences her. She's way to experienced and has traveled a lot. She's high on weed all the time and has a "curious"way of dressing.
Hannah admires her unstopable sex life.

-Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna Shapiro Jessa's cousin:
Freaky as hell but at the same time adorable. Unexperienced teenager who admires her cousin and looks up to her. She's hilariously funny and once gets by accident high on cocaine and that episode it's tremendously funny.I love how she grows to be an adult and develops a more confident personality.

-Adam Driver as Adam Sackler:
Hannahs love. Super excentric Adam, to be polite I'll say "awkward Adam". He's really really ugly and pretty mean. Treats Hannah horribly and posibly has mental problems, but Hannah seams attached to him. Along the series you begin to actually like him.

All along the first season i've been laughing nonstop. The dialoge between characters is amazing!Give this series a shot because if you have inteligent sense of humour you'll get all the jokes and have a good time seing this girl act. It takes part in NEWYORK, what more can you ask for?

This girls show you that also being young is difficult, that eventhough grownups may see their problems as "insignificant", for this girls they're SUPER IMPORTANT haha. Moreover, this series makes you see the difficult times young out of university people are facing when struggling to find a job.

La DÉLICATESSE

“La délicatesse”

I apologize for my absence this month, but I am truly enjoying my so deserved vacations in the beach with  a “margarita” and no laptop….I hope I didn’t loose you readers.

Yesterday as I was with a terrible knock-knock hangover I had the pleasure of seeing this wierd but at the same time amazing movie and I had to write about it…

Movie from David and Stephane Foenkinos, script by David Foenkinos based on the novel edited by Seix Barral.
Featuring Audrey Tautou as <Nathalie> and Francois Damiens  as <Markus>.

It’s a French movie and French movies are known for being “slow motioned” but this story is a bomb full of feelings and advice.
Me, myself, I'm not a fan of Audrey Tautou but I have to admit this movie made me appreciate her way of acting. I love her style and totally french outfits full of dresses and her paddington blue-marine jacket.

This story talks about the enormous love of two people, grown to each other since highschool times. Both lovely, both handsome, both marvellous “in love”.
You enjoy their love and the pretty face of the first main character…

But all of this changes the day He goes jogging with earphones on….never comes back because he's hitten by a car. One day, one instant, one second you have him by your side the other you don’t..Nathalie didn’t give him a kiss that day, never will…

Nathalie is devastated and doesn’t go on with her life. She spends months trapped in her apartment getting rid of everything that reminds her of Francois…(even throws his laptot..) The solution is hiding herself in work because if not she’ll destroy herself. She has to do something, she has to distract herself or she’ll end up loosing her mind.
Therefor she becomes the number one at work.
It’s been three years and she’s not over it, she’s not prepared to date again.
Her boss at work is totally obsessed with her, and it’s that constant pressure that makes her not want to date again.

One day,out of herself, she gives a kiss to one of her work companions. A guy at the office that’s practically invisible, nobody knows hes name and nobody had noticed him before.
That day he goes home and wonders everything about that girl, that girl who suddenly decided to kiss him, HIM.

Next day at work he goes into her office and kisses her back. With all his courage because he’s actually a very shy man.
Markus is nothing like Nathalie's type of man.
Quick description: Hes swiss , tall , very pale skin-white as milk and practically bald.  Nobody understands what this two are up to, and nobody understands their relationship. But little by little (like the title says “la Delicatesse” )Markus very delicately starts giving Nathalie what she needs, peace and calmness and no pressure. She begings to like him because hes delicate and sweet and makes her laugh…
People at work, her friends say she’s way superior to him and that “she can do better”.

This movie stands up for those topics, how a pure heart can conquer a women and save her from the hole her husbands death has let her. Society tends to judge people by it’s cover and because of that we are missing the opportunity to know amazing people. Like main character Markus. Every time he speaks you begin to see him more and more handsome. This movie simbolizes the strength to overcome, the need to suffer  in order to cure and beggin a new chapter of your life. Life doesn’t end with your close relatives death, they live forever in you and give you the power to accomplish the way back to yourself.
