Script by Cameron Crowe, based on the Biography of Benjamin Lee starring Matt Damon and Scarlet Johansson.
I don't know if it's because I'm OBSESSED WITH ZOOs (once I went to one and almost ended up taking a mini monkey home) since I was young, or if I´m just completely sensitive nowadays and loved this prompty movie.
I saw this movie while being in the bus and I had to whipe out the tears of my glasses, they were completely scrubby!
Some movies like this don´t make it to the cinema and critics don´t give them the importance they deserve. Because no one does, i´ll do it, and since with this blog I´m not getting anywhere I just want people to see it. It´s a movie that reflects humanity. A movie that makes you value your family, that among all the things you own ,family is your treasure trove. Me myself I´m quite a family person. I longtime miss my movie nights with all of them...
If you want to buy me something buy me experience, buy me memories, give me things to do to always remember. And if you insist on buying me something, buy me a camara so I can photograph all those moments and never forget them.
This movie is a mixture of comedy and drama because eventhough the main plot is hard and delicate you find yourself crying and laughing with this cocktail mixture. This family has to deal with the unfair unexplicable situation of the loss of a beloved one. Kids have to combat their mother or father is not there anymore and I can´t imagine anything harder in life. It´s true that the young have lost their parents, but also the father or mother have lost their companion and has to manage to stay still and mantain the smile for the kids,or they will all go down.
Here the parent is played by Mat Damon and its the first time I see him in a role which I entirely admire. His acting is very real and natural. One day I hope my future husband could be somehow like him. This father expresses endless love for his children, so much to the point of buying a zoo just to see the little smile on his daughter's face. Spending all his money in an adventure.
This movie approches things like the hard understanding between a father and his son.
Sometimes the harder we speak to people the more we are calling for their attention. Sometimes the only thing we need from our parents is their approval and the feeling of being taken into consideration. Mat here is attending his little daughter, but without doing it on purpose, forgetting about his older son.
I seriously don´t understand how they got so many animals to behave so properly for this movie, with so many camaras around. This movie is not only amazing for us spectators, I can assure you the actors have had a great time.
